Dusting off the cobwebs......☺

Image
Apparently I only come  here occasionally to dust off the cobwebs. Well, it is March. More specifically, it is St Patrick's Day. That's not even why I'm here.  I know ... random.😏 I'm here to post a bunch of pictures of stuff I have been doing since the first of the year. I've mentioned before that I do post pics more regularly on Facebook . If you would care to click the ever so convenient link to my page and give it a like you would see stuff a lot more often😉 Ok...... here we go! I'm really enjoying making these! I've been doing a lot of wire weaving. This one is from a Nicole Hanna tutorial. So is this one with a slight variation due to a broken wire☺ And then there is this super cool but quite large birdie pendant☺ I've also been doing some clay work. This time around it was air dry paper clay. Talk about trying my patience! I am not good at waiting. The dry time about k...

Almost done with another year........

Image
This was my fourth year participating in The Year of Jewelry Project I have one more project to submit for this year and I will have completed all 52 weeks of all 4 of those years☺ Some years I have been caught up almost all of the year And other years I have had to play catch-up for 6 to 8 weeks. But I have successfully FINISHED at least 52 pieces  and photographed and posted them. I am pretty proud of myself for actually being able to create pieces even when I wasn't really "feeling it" or being super busy with other things. But I felt it was a commitment I had made,  even if it was really just to myself, and I was determined to finish what I started☺ I have explored a lot of different techniques and mediums, I have improved a lot in several of them☺ and I have gotten much better at the photographing of the pieces. At least I think I have☺ I did not sign up to participate in the project for 2017. I seem to have a lot less ...

Year of Jewelry Weeks 15 & 16 and a greenhouse pic... or two☺

Image
Still keeping up and  still spending a lot of time in the greenhouse☺ Peppers, cabbage, cauliflower and some squash in the far back just hangin out til it's warm enough to plant them outside more cauliflower,  peppers and broccoli on the other side here☺ I have the blue totes (where the tomatoes live) set up with a drip system on a timer and the temporary pots with the "outside" plants are on another timer with soaker hoses So far it's working out very well☺ It took a little work to set up the soaker hoses but very worth it. WAY better than spending 1 1/2 everyday watering!

redo, redoing, redone.....

Image
I finished the ends of this using this tutorial ~~ Thank you Sherri ~~ I love the way the ends look and, even with all of it's flaws, I like the way the pattern turned out, But....... after double checking that all of my knotting was tight, then glueing the knots and trimming my ends I realized that... front I had one end right side up..... back of knots and the other end upside down.  Oops.... So.... I will redo this one in the same pattern and hopefully both ends will be right side up when I finish☺ I am redoing this one. I added a lot more cords and I love the way it is coming along. And for "redone".... Before I liked it this way but I started thinking that I wanted it to be a bit "beefier" (word?) So I did this.... Then I got totally distracted and made a bunch of earrings for absolutely no reason..... ~except that I had an idea~

my weekend... success?

Image
This weekend I had about a weeks worth of projects that I wanted to accomplish. Did I accomplish all of them? HA! NO! Did I expect to? No☺ I did work on some MORE bee pendants. I am experimenting with colors and finishes and I like what I have so far. I finished a necklace that I think is probably my favorite EVER ..... so far☺ I can honestly say that I have never shopped for specific beads for a specific project (except for a bead weaving pattern I bought. Delica beads.  Dang they are TINY. Talk about a lot of work...whew☺) until I received this heart focal from StudioJuls and I knew I wanted it to be superduperspecialextragorgeousawesome! So I took my gift card I got for Christmas (Thanks Mom!) and got me some goodies from Fire Mountain . I have fallen in love with Swarovski crystals (aren't they perty?) and I discovered swarovski pearls too, cuz they were just the perfect cream color to go with my focal. And a grab bag of copper spacers...

As you may remember, this is the gorgeousness that I received. The Bead Soup I received from Mary Shannon Hicks Nephrite jade, jasper, pearls, glass and copper beads. A gorgeous jasper heart focal and awesome copper clasp. I used copper wire to add a wire wrapped 'bail' and added copper bead and wire dangles. I added some swarovski crystals from my stash for some sparkle and did a little more wire wrapping on these gorgeous pearl sticks. I also added these coral cubes for a pop of color, and a couple of handmade paper beads then mixed some coiled copper wire beads in  with the jade, jasper and copper beads to finish it out. I made the clasp using copper wire for the 'hook'  and copper tubing for the 'eye'☺ I'm very pleased with how this came out. Now, the rules state that each Bead Soup participant  must use the focal and the clasp included in the soup that they receive but they don't have to be used in the same piece. The clasp that came i...

busy, busy, busy

(As usual my 'Summer Blogging' is proving to be very erratic☺) But, I'm sure no one is going through Wigglebutt Withdrawals;~) I finished filling and planting my pots for the front of the house. I have the usual flowers, but I also am trying tomatoes in two of the pots, strawberries in one, pablano peppers in one, cucumbers in one and herbs in another. Hopefully my gardening skills have improved over last year (Lily says "Hi") View from the side of the house. Usually I put a pot of flowers on top of my whiskey barrel, but I made this Fairy house,oh, maybe four years ago?  And it has been living in the shed this whole time, I figured it was time to bring it out. Maybe it will bring some magic for my crops;~) I also replanted a slew of perennials in my center garden. I ordered them from a wonderful company, Bluestone Perennials. They are wonderful! This was my second time ordering from them.  This time didn't go quite as smoothly as the first time due to an...
