W.I.P....still

Image
My Honey and I decided to have the shop open on Saturday, this week and next week since the deadline for changing out studded snow tires is May 1st.   Most people wait till the last minute and then panic if they can't have it done,  "RIGHT NOW!   While I wait!!" Attitudes can get really ugly the closer we get to the deadline, so we are hoping this will ease a little of the tension.  But I really hate working six days a week.  It puts a damper on my claying. I was able to complete a couple of necklace sets. I like this one, But I LOVE this one! I have about 8 more in the works, but until after next week it will probably be slow going.

Summer Sherbert

You might remember a couple weeks ago I told you I got this book I got so caught up in playing around with the silver on Saturday and the polymer on Sunday, that I had to put the baby dragons on hold.  They aren't quite ready to hatch anyway=~) These may not look like much just yet, But after a scrub-a-dub-dub and a refreshing dip in liver of sulfer they will be awesome:) These still need to be cleaned up around the edges and varnished to a shiny shine ( I think I've mentioned before, I don't sand:) Aren't these colors yummy??? They make me think of sherbert. I love sherbert.  drool  Especially sherbert with vanilla ice cream. drooool Sorry. I'm back. I had to go add something to my shopping list. Once I get these to a finished state where I can start actually putting them together, I will take some decent pictures to post.  Until then, I will show you one I finished last week. This one is faux jade with the oxidized silver pendant. I will get better pics of

Awwwwwwwww ..... April

I swear, it happens every year.  And every year it's soooooo depressing. Here is Lily and Scoobie Doo basking in what April has once again brought us. Sunshine and 10 inches of new snow. They are predicting snow through the weekend.  yea =( My weekend will be spent playing with the Art Clay Silver that arrived this week and starting some new baby dragons.  I'm thinking young dragons, really young, 'egg' young☺ I have some ideas, we'll see how they play out. I have been enjoying 'mindless' claying this week. My husband got me flowers one year in a clear glass vase shaped like a swan.  I've had this for probably 5 years or longer and I finally decided on a "Faux Jade" to cover it with.  It still needs a good coat of varnish (I don't sand☺),  but I think I like it.

Launched, Listed .... and a favor?☺

If you are a regular, you may remember me mentioning that I was in the process of redesigning  my website.  I knew it was going to be a big undertaking and boy, was it ever!  There are a couple of pages still under construction and of course these types of things are never really "finished".  But, after spending over a month loading adding changing tweaking, I think I like it. ☺ Sooooooo........... If you happen to have some time on your hands, I would love it if you would wander over to wigglebutt.com  and let me know what you think.  I really would appreciate ANY feedback. Well that takes care of the Launched and  favor parts, now for Listed................................ This little lovely is now in my Etsy shop and so is He and so is this  cutie pie Oh,  I almost forgot.  I'm trying out Facebook.  It seems to be all the rage right now.  You would probably laugh if you knew how long it has taken me to figure some of it out.  I even had to ask the young l

Not. The last remaining snow patch in my yard is was apparently housing voles. Now it is not.  And I am not sure if my back is going to allow me to get out of bed in the morning. Heres hoping☺

Experiments and new goodies☺

I have been experimenting with Art Clay Silver.  I love the fact that when you are done, you have an actual solid silver "whatever".  My "whatevers" have been pendants, so far. I am so used to using polymer clay, which will not dry out or harden until you WANT it to. This silver clay has be quite a challenge for me.  It seems to want to 'crust' over as soon as I take it out of the package.  I have been using olive oil to keep it moist but I have alot of practice ahead of me I think. I used a polymer mold that I made last fall for this pendant.  It is simple but I like it.  I strung it on a sterling silver snake chain.  I wanted to try something a little more interesting, so I tried a project from this book. (Lots of neat projects in here, by the way☺) I don't think I like the cording that I used.  I may have to re-do this with a cord that is a bit 'beefier".  I'm still undecided.  I am pleased with the pendant itself.
