More of The Year of Jewelry.......

Image
I may have mentioned before  that I pretty much suck at that thing known as social media☺ These last few weeks haven't seen any noticeable improvement  to that suck-age:~( And in my last post I kinda sorta promised to be a little more chatty this time around aaaaaaaaaannnndd....... I lied. This is all I have for you today. At least I made a couple of collages instead of inundating you with a hundred bazzillion pictures. Really just seven, but that can seem like a lot. No? If you want to see bigger individual pics you can go here . There are some really nice pieces by some very talented  jewelry artists in The Year of Jewelry Project I'm not making any promises this time but maybe I'll actually have something to chat about next time and maybe next time will be sooner than  2 months from now.

More YOJP pictures...... Week 31 ~ 34

Yeah...... I know I suck at blogging☺ But I'm a busy, busy gal☺☺  I seriously started this necklace over a year ago and  finally finished it. Whew!☺  This is another Nicole Hanna tutorial. I'm really heavy handed when I work with wire and I am really trying to get more used to working with thinner gauges without breaking the wire every time I touch it☺ Most of Nicole's tutorials call for 22g and 28g so it's really good practice for me.  Some polymer clay components by me☺ Keeping it simple again so I can keep up.

Been on Vaca :-) But still trying to get caught up Still trying to find a good online photo editing program  Tried a wire wrap tutorial Loved it, want to do a few more of these:-) Decided I wanted to accomplish something a little more substantial, and I''m pleased;-)

Year of Jewelry 2015 ~ I'm once again catching up ;~)

Image
I am in the middle of a bit of a Vaca;~) But I am still determined to catch up! (Vaca has been awesome, by the way:) I will have to admit right now that I am very spoiled by the programs on my computer back home. (Specifically PhotoShop, Picasa, PrintShop, etc.... basically all of the programs Honey felt we had to have)  I have spent the last hour trying to make a decent looking collage of the last few weeks of projects using whatever free online programs I can find. No luck, so there are quite a few pics here;~( Ok, here we go.......... I think I'm only about 4 weeks behind now so I'll be caught up in no time;~)

My finished project☺...and a tutorial review

Image
Ok, so I showed you this earlier in the week Well..... I finished it☺ YAY! And it didn't take me six months☺ On the more complicated projects, I have a tendency to a) lose interest and set it aside or b) get distracted by another project  and forget about it for a while. Usually b☺ A few weeks ago I saw a picture of this bracelet on facebook  with a link to the tutorial  I bought the tutorial and  ordered the beads and got to work. The tutorial was very easy to follow   even for a novice beader like me. According to the tutorial the tension on the last couple of steps needed to be pretty tight in order for the last rows to sit right. No matter how hard I tried I could not get it to sit right. I'm going to chalk that up to my lack of experience and not the pattern, at least until I make another.  (which I will ~ there are so many gorgeous colors of these triangle beads☺)   My solution for getti...

Year of Jewelry ~ Weeks 35 - 41 ~ In other words "I am caught up!" HOOO HOOO☺

And I spent the weekend cleaning my work area and catching up on season 4 of  "The Walking Dead" on netflix. So my husband can now "walk" across the room to the window instead of tip-toeing.  ( I tend to spread (everything) out on the floor when I'm making stuff☺) So, I am feeling rather accomplished☺  I'm actually pretty pleased with all of these guys, but I really love this one. I kinda like these too☺  I was hoping to get some new stuff listed in the store over the weekend but the disaster that I call "my area" was just too HUGE!  Whatever time that wasn't spent on laundry, vacuuming, etc was spent "putting away". I am going to do a "shop update" soon. I'll keep ya posted☺

Catching up .....again;)

Image
Here we have Weeks 26 - 29 projects for  The Year of Jewelry Project. I actually have been pretty punctual about posting to the group, just not so much here☺ These guys have been back several times for extra helpings but I have been able to enjoy a little broccoli, cauliflower and leaf lettuce that they kindly left alone. One little one is all about the strawberry plants and the other has developed a taste for beets:( I guess sharing is a good thing..right? Anyway... here we go ~ ~ Week 26 ~ ~ Week 27 ~ Finally worked up the courage to do this in sterling silver ~ Love ~ Week 28 ~ ~ Week 29 ~

redo, redoing, redone.....

Image
I finished the ends of this using this tutorial ~~ Thank you Sherri ~~ I love the way the ends look and, even with all of it's flaws, I like the way the pattern turned out, But....... after double checking that all of my knotting was tight, then glueing the knots and trimming my ends I realized that... front I had one end right side up..... back of knots and the other end upside down.  Oops.... So.... I will redo this one in the same pattern and hopefully both ends will be right side up when I finish☺ I am redoing this one. I added a lot more cords and I love the way it is coming along. And for "redone".... Before I liked it this way but I started thinking that I wanted it to be a bit "beefier" (word?) So I did this.... Then I got totally distracted and made a bunch of earrings for absolutely no reason..... ~except that I had an idea~

some new beady stuff

In addition to the owls I've been working (and reworking & reworking) on, I have a  few new pendant and bead sets. The little 'bee hive' beads. Cute huh? The little birdy beads. Cute too huh? Who doesn't love humming birds? And I finally decided on THE owl design(s) The large ones (approx 1 inch tall) and the small ones (approx  3/4 inch tall) are slightly different designs. I like both designs and of course each bead has it's own "personality" since each one is made by hand.  I'm hoping to start listing all of these in the next few days☺ *(coming soon...star fish and dragonflies☺)* And since I ONLY have about a gazillion unfinished projects in the works, I decided I should add a little something. Something simple... just to keep my hands busy... when i am just relaxing... We all know how much I LOVE seed beads (OMG they drive me CRAZY!) Nothing like starting "simple" when trying something new;~) Is there a cure for th...
