It hasn't even been six months yet ~ and already another post☺

HaHaHa! I kill me☺ Just working on being a little more consistent with the blog. ~The sad thing is that I started this draft on Nov. 4th :( 😒 No need to rush a good thing.. right? Doesn't everyone take 6 weeks to write a blog post that consists of mostly pictures????? Ummm...no? 😞 Well, coincidently this necklace took over a year to complete. This is a beautiful lamp work heart by Juli Cannon. Every time I picked it up to work on it, I was at a loss as to what to do next. So I would set it back down;(    Even when I had it all finished something just wasn't right.   One tiny change and all was right with the world. Well, at least with this necklace☺ I made this using a tutorial. Much easier than it looks☺ Then I had an urge to use another of Juli Cannon's gorgeous lamp work focal beads, so I tied some knots☺ I do try to post pictures of new stuff semi-regularly on the Wigglebutt Creations Facebook page. So until I ca...

A little bit of beading

Image
I've actually been accomplishing quite a few things since I decided to take a break from YOJP. ~Not all jewelry related... just things I want to accomplish☺ I used a tutorial for this necklace (I changed it slightly from the instructions) I loved the way it looked but it wore really funky. The only way this was going to lay right would be if it was a choker. Didn't like that..... So I reworked it☺ Much happier now. It wears really nice now. Very comfortable☺ And I got to use one of my hoarded  JulsBeads focal beads☺ Win ~ Win! ☺

Year of Jewelry 35 ~ 37

A very quick quicky this time☺ Been very busy getting the garden and greenhouses  ready for winter. Back to being a couple of weeks behind. Not bad though, considering☺ I'll be more wordy next time, k?

Year of Jewelry ~ Weeks 12, 13 & 14

Image
I like all of these but I'm particularly pleased with Week 14☺ Week 12 and 13 were kind of quicky designs to keep up with the project while spending far too long  trying to accomplish Week 14☺ haha! Usually when I start with a tutorial (which I did for this bracelet) I can't seem to  put my own spin on it without ending up with something that is just horrid. The kind of thing you look at and say to yourself "What in the hell is that supposed to be?" The vague idea in my head seems do-able  but I always seem to end up with "What were you thinking?" "What were you even trying to do?!!!" But I like this one☺ I even tried to finish the ends of the cuff like the tutorial and ended up "trimming" the wrong wire (oops) and had to come up with my own end design with what I had left to work with☺ The focal bead is, of course, made by my absolute fav glass artist Juli Cannon of Juls Beads. Year of Jewelry 2015 ~ I'm once again catching up ;~)

Image
I am in the middle of a bit of a Vaca;~) But I am still determined to catch up! (Vaca has been awesome, by the way:) I will have to admit right now that I am very spoiled by the programs on my computer back home. (Specifically PhotoShop, Picasa, PrintShop, etc.... basically all of the programs Honey felt we had to have)  I have spent the last hour trying to make a decent looking collage of the last few weeks of projects using whatever free online programs I can find. No luck, so there are quite a few pics here;~( Ok, here we go.......... I think I'm only about 4 weeks behind now so I'll be caught up in no time;~)

Meet My Bead Soup Partner!

Image
We were partnered up a few days ago but this is the first time I have had a chance to sit down and tell you about my partner for this year's Bead Soup Blog Party. So, without further ado...... TA DA! ~ Allow me to introduce you to the lovely and talented ~   Rachel Baron of  R. Baron Designs Rachel's earrings using her own lamp work beads. Purty!!  You can see her Website Here She makes her own lamp work glass beads. VERY NICE! This wine stopper just makes me happy☺  LOVE the color of those beads♥  She has her own handmade beads, jewelry and even really cool wine stoppers for sale in her Etsy shop. You should check out her Etsy store Here She's also on facebook, you should go and say hello to her  Here I ended up having two different soups to choose from to send Rachel and I really had a hard time deciding which one to send. So hard of a time that I had to get a couple different opinion...

Year of Jewelry ~ Week 43

Image
Wow! OK, I have posted 3 times in a week...Hmmmm I could say I'm trying to get better at posting more regularly but that's not necessarily the case. I am, however, still playing catch-up on this little year long project . The project is currently at week 46, I am posting week 43 today. Not too far behind☺ I am SO glad to be finished with this bracelet! I started this months ago.....the first time. I have torn this apart and restarted it 5 TIMES!  Aarg!!! None of them were good enough and each one I liked less than the previous one. Looking back, I honestly believe the first try was the best one. I like this last try least of all, but I am NOT DOING IT AGAIN! I absolutely LOVE the focal, another gorgeous bead from JulsBeads (Pssst.....She's having a sale in her Etsy Shop , by the way☺) and I like the colors of the accent beads, but that's about it. The rest of it, I'm not loving. Except for the fact that it is...

Year of Jewelry ~ Weeks 40 & 41 because I'm behind again ~ apparently that's just how I roll☺

Image
I don't know why I have issues with stringing bracelets, but it always seems to be such a struggle to get them  'just right'. This one I loved, then I hated it (almost took it all apart) and now I think I am OK with it. I wasn't even planning on making anything this weekend. This was going to be a "clean up and organize" weekend and I started here Apparently this was a huge mistake. This is my 'lampwork' drawer and I have never really had it  organized in any particular way and I need to find a home for all of the  cabs I have for wire wrapping, so I needed to condense. This was as far as I got. (Drawer and contents currently taking up a large parcel of floor) I came across the red, white and black set of Juls Beads and decided that I was going to just GO FOR IT and pulled out my sterling silver wire (which I am usually terrified to use because I waste  so much wire when I have a vague idea and it doesn'...

Year of Jewelry ~ Week 32

Image
I've been so busy this summer with the new garden (who knew we would have record temps and more sunshine  than I have seen in any one summer I have spent in Alaska since moving here in 1992. Two hours of watering. Everything. Every. Single. Day. Not including the grass☺) that I haven't had nearly as much time to spend "making" as I would like. Now that the rainy season is here, I feel like I have a little more free time while I wait for "harvest time". With fall quickly approaching it will be time to start canning all of the  goodies I have been able to grow this year. I'll post more about that when the time comes. For now I hope to spend more of my time creating. Hopefully accomplishing more than 'just' the one piece of jewelry per week that I committed to for The Year of Jewelry Project . I am almost completely caught up on those postings though☺ Here is Week 32 I am seriously in love with viking knit! ...
