Hi There.....Me again☺

Image
More YOJP pictures. And a little about the yard and garden☺ I used a tutorial by Nicole Hanna for this one  Made this bracelet using the same weave pattern  as this necklace from Week 20  I struggled with this one, I had a heck of a time  with the length. But super happy with how it turned out☺  I struggled with this one too, and I'm not so thrilled  with how it turned out, but I just wanted to BE DONE with it. lol So, as they say, It is what it is. I am in love with these. So cute! As you know, if you have been around for a while, I usually fall a little behind on the project in the summer months. Like most everybody else, we always have a lot going on in the summer. Lots of planting vegetables Tomatoes in greenhouse #2 Hot peppers in greenhouse #1  and  flowers and more flowers. There's more but this is already one long-ass post! lol So I will just leave you with this......

Year of Jewelry Weeks 15 & 16 and a greenhouse pic... or two☺

Still keeping up and  still spending a lot of time in the greenhouse☺ Peppers, cabbage, cauliflower and some squash in the far back just hangin out til it's warm enough to plant them outside more cauliflower,  peppers and broccoli on the other side here☺ I have the blue totes (where the tomatoes live) set up with a drip system on a timer and the temporary pots with the "outside" plants are on another timer with soaker hoses So far it's working out very well☺ It took a little work to set up the soaker hoses but very worth it. WAY better than spending 1 1/2 everyday watering!

Do you ever feel like you have way too many things going on at  once and start feeling overwhelmed  when in fact it is just you feeling like you should be  or want to be accomplishing "x" number of things  and you simply don't have time for all of them? And then you beat yourself up because you can't "do it all"? Oh.... and then there is that full time job thing. Yea..............   I just have to keep reminding myself......... If you think about it, for the most part, the only person you are letting down is You. Give yourself a break! ☺  I've been spending A LOT   of time in the greenhouse. Absolutely loving the warmth and the smell of dirt☺ tomato plants, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage   Lots of transplanting and watering happening. Everyone is growing so fast! squash, peppers, flowers I've also been having all kinds of ideas of things I want to be making. Not just jewelry, but some ne...

All about the greenhouse ...... growing like a weed☺

I showed a couple pics of the greenhouse in my last post but this post is all about the plants☺ (And there are lots of pics:~p)  I started planting seeds on Jan 10th Jan 17 The broccoli and cauliflower were the first to start coming up. Jan 23 Jan 26 Time to start thinning and re-potting Feb 2 Coming along fine☺ Feb 2 The perennial flowers are starting to get in it gear Feb 6 Some broccoli, cauliflower, a couple of flowers Feb 6 They all seem to be pretty happy in their hi tech pots (9 oz dixie cups)☺ Feb 6 Feb 6 Mostly peppers and a few tomatoes Feb 6 All of the plants are pretty much constantly being moved around  from tray to tray according to height. ( Think elementary school picture day)   I keep the lights just a couple of inches from the top of the plants at all times. It keeps them from getting all stringy and lanky since they don't have to "stretch" to seek out the lig...

Update on the greenhouse, better late than never☺

Image
(Warning: Lots of pictures☺) If we are on Facebook together,  you may have already seen some of these☺ Back in April I posted a bit about our progress on  the building of the greenhouse then I got so busy finishing and filling it, then getting the garden beds ready  and planting them, (plus, making many earrings )  that I just plain didn't have time for more updates until now☺ You can see where I left off here . We had to wait about 4 more days before we had a calm "window" of no wind (which lasted about 2 hours)  before we were able to get the roof panels in. After that, I installed the shelving (all by my self ~ yay me☺)  It was snowing outside  But, even with just a little electric heater, (running off an extension cord)  it stayed plenty warm enough to work inside.   Once I had the shelves in, Honey put in the electrical   and then installed a propane heater ~ it'...

Greenhouse progress........

Last weekend we had a friend come out to help (finally) build the greenhouse. Steve and Mike The guys got the lower braces in. Max ( Mike's dog) was closely supervising A LOT of drilling and riveting. I mean A LOT. We got all of the lower wall panels in and broke for lunch. While I was cleaning up from lunch the guys got back at it. When I got back outside they had this much of the upper back complete and they were just wandering around looking for something. They finally stopped looking and told me............... We were missing a panel. And they were seriously afraid to tell me. Each section has 2 panels, a flat panel and a corrugated panel. We were missing the corrugated panel for   that little section next to the fan vent. Can't go any farther without it. We had to call it a day. The plan was to call the greenhouse people on Monday and have them ship it to us. In the mean time we figured we had better inventory the rest of the ...
