Year of Jewelry ~ Week 24

Ok - just so we're clear; 

I know my last YOJP post was for Weeks 19 & 20.

I am still playing catch up.

(I did Week 21 also, I just neglected to blog about it. My bad)

AND, as you know, I don't always follow the prompt for the weekly theme,

but I am actually skipping 22 & 23 (for now)

to post for Week 24.

The theme is "Commitment".

This seemed to fit the theme on so many levels☺ lol.

The pendant was actually  my entry for  

Week 11  "Rescued From the Scrap Bin"

I was determined that I would actually DO something with the pendant so that

it didn't have to spend another two years waiting.

~Commitment~

I had seen a necklace design in the

February 2013 issue of  Jewelry Stringing.

The design was a winner of the 2012 Bead Star Contest

for the "stones" category and was designed by Darcy Alice.

As usual, I didn't follow the pattern exactly,

(do I ever?!)

I re-did the side on the right THREE different times,

re-knotting, rearranging, etc.

and I could not get the two sides to look even and balanced.

This was over the course of about two weeks off and on and I was getting

increasingly frustrated, annoyed and generally ...pissed off!

(The design is NOT that difficult!  What IN THE HELL is wrong with me???)

~Commitment~ ( possibly of another kind☺)

I was seriously contemplating tossing it back into the To Do pile.

But by this time I had put enough time and effort into it that  I was going to finish it 

OR ELSE.

~Commitment~

I finally thought I had it.

I started knotting the cords (again) to add the cord ends and noticed the 

knot on the right was larger than the one on the left.

OMG!!!....???  .... DUH!

Somehow, while I was knotting the pendant,

(at the very beginning)

instead of having 10 cords on each side,

I had ended up with 9 on one side and 11 on the other.

I didn't have a snowball's chance in hell

of making both sides look balanced!

I felt like an idiot but at least I wasn't going insane☺

And, there you have it.....
