Inspired.....

I have literally dozens of things I want to be working on,
dozens of things that are started that need, at some point,
to be finished and I'm having a difficult time getting the oompf to do them.
Clay things, charm things, bead things, I have metal clay, a kiln, ideas, no oompf.

Life is good☺
Work is good☺
Hubby is good♥
Lily girl is good♥

It's all good 'cept for the oompf.

I've been looking at some gorgeous micro-macrame jewelry by this awesome artist.
I also stalk her on facebook and I had been wanting to try something different,
but no oompf :~(

Then one day this lovely lady announced a sale on her
absolutely gorgeous lampwork glass focal beads and I thought maybe
I could combine the macrame and the lampwork.
And since an entire drawer full of Juls beads is not enough
for any living being,
(I may have mentioned a small addiction a time or two)
I had to order a couple of focals
(and, ummm.... some beads just cuz)
And since I am an extremely impatient person and I didn't want to
wait the entire.. what.. 4 days for the new focals to get here,
I pulled out one that I already had
~ *surprise*~
and I made this.
My first micro-macrame bracelet

I knotted and "un" knotted this probably close to twenty times ...really.
It has so many flaws I don't want to even try to count them all
and.....
I absolutely love it♥

I have no idea how I am going to finish it yet but I'm sure
eventually it will come to me☺
And since I will always continue to "be me" I have started
another project before finishing the last one.

It took a while to figure out how to add cords,
since I could only fit so many through the hole in the focal.
But I finally found a way that I liked the look of.
( I also just spotted a wonky knot that I need to fix)
But I really like the way this one is starting out.

And I have a plan to organize my work area this up coming weekend.
There hasn't been a single time that I have gone there to organize that I haven't been
distracted by some project or another, hopefully this time won't be any different.

I'll be hunting for my oompf☺

  1. Lovin' the oomph~ and the macrame work! You make those beads look good! I'm itching to see if I remember how to do macrame. Where did you order your cord?

  2. I also have a drawer full of Juli's beads and they're too precious to use! Besides, if I make something with them, I won't have them to handle and fondle! I'm also afraid I am not good enough to do them justice. Your first macrame is totally awesome. Hard to believe it's your first. Beautiful work!

  3. I had to read this blog simply because "wigglebutt" is the nickname for my golden retriever. Imagine my excitement at finding someone else wanting to try micro macrame. I'm ready to dive in and try it too. You all are a huge inspiration. Great work.

  5. hahaha - imagine my surprise when I popped over to see what your inspiration was - only to discover it was me! Your bracelet is gorgeous! Hint: if you want to end it with a jump ring (well, split ring) and clasp, I have a little tutorial here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.354969701183659.104582.206284059385558&type=3) The photographs aren't great, but you'll get the idea. I'll be watching to see where you go with your micro macrame!

  6. Fantastic bracelet, and I think the second one may even eclipse it, given that beautiful start. Micromacrame is on my list of must-try's, so thanks for the link! (And the extra inspiration.)
