Year of Jewelry Week 24

Image
Lots of gardening, visitors and traveling has been happening around here (and not a lot of jewelry making) Hopefully, now that things are calming down a little, I can carve out some time to catch up again;~) Here's Week 24 I bought a blouse to wear to a wedding (part of the traveling) and it came with a seriously awful beaded necklace. I made this to take it's place☺

Update on the greenhouse, better late than never☺

Image
(Warning: Lots of pictures☺) If we are on Facebook together,  you may have already seen some of these☺ Back in April I posted a bit about our progress on  the building of the greenhouse then I got so busy finishing and filling it, then getting the garden beds ready  and planting them, (plus, making many earrings )  that I just plain didn't have time for more updates until now☺ You can see where I left off here . We had to wait about 4 more days before we had a calm "window" of no wind (which lasted about 2 hours)  before we were able to get the roof panels in. After that, I installed the shelving (all by my self ~ yay me☺)  It was snowing outside  But, even with just a little electric heater, (running off an extension cord)  it stayed plenty warm enough to work inside.   Once I had the shelves in, Honey put in the electrical   and then installed a propane heater ~ it'...

Year of Jewelry ~ Weeks 18 - 23

Still finishing up work on the garden beds, so, obviously still playing catch up;~( But I'm almost there☺ Here is the last of the feather earrings that I made for a wedding party. And, FINALLY ~  If I never work with another feather, it will be too soon. Just sayin.

Year of Jewelry ~ Week 16 & 17

Playing catch up again☺ Just been busy with other things☺ These sets of earrings (and the next few I will be posting)   are similar on purpose. I was sent a bag of feathers and asked if I would use them to create several pairs of earring for a wedding party. I have to admit that working with feathers was a challenge and it took more time than it really should have for me  to wrap my brain around how to assemble all of them. But the task was completed (in time for the wedding☺) and I like the way they turned out. So it's all good;~)

Greenhouse progress........

Image
Last weekend we had a friend come out to help (finally) build the greenhouse. Steve and Mike The guys got the lower braces in. Max ( Mike's dog) was closely supervising A LOT of drilling and riveting. I mean A LOT. We got all of the lower wall panels in and broke for lunch. While I was cleaning up from lunch the guys got back at it. When I got back outside they had this much of the upper back complete and they were just wandering around looking for something. They finally stopped looking and told me............... We were missing a panel. And they were seriously afraid to tell me. Each section has 2 panels, a flat panel and a corrugated panel. We were missing the corrugated panel for   that little section next to the fan vent. Can't go any farther without it. We had to call it a day. The plan was to call the greenhouse people on Monday and have them ship it to us. In the mean time we figured we had better inventory the rest of the ...

Gardening update..... and YOJP Week 12

This weekends weather has been really awesome Sunshine, no wind and 40 something both days. I am itching to start building the greenhouse that we bought last August. It was supposed to arrive in September with enough  time to build it before winter but due to some "back order"  delays it didn't arrive until November;(   WAY too late to build before winter. So it has been sitting out there in the connex, in boxes, waiting patiently. We are hoping to be able to start building next weekend. ~hope~hope~hope~ We need to get it up pretty soon cuz these guys and these guys are getting a little out of control☺ They need to be planted before too long. The new greenhouse will be heated, so no matter the weather, once we get it up and running, the tomatoes can go in☺ These guys and these guys will be living in the old greenhouse (which is not heated)   when it gets a little warmer out. And now my YOJP...
