For week 19, I once again did not follow the prompt, which was "Your Favorite Flower". My favorite flower is the "Swingtime" fuchsia  This picture is from 2010 It is just so fluffy and happy looking☺ I still plan on trying my hand at making some polymer clay fuchsia but for week 19, I was busy with a custom order. A new customer of mine had a beach stone that she picked up while overseas many years ago.  It has special meaning to her and she asked if I could "do something" with it. I was a little nervous about whether or not she would like it,  but then again, I always am. She picked it up today and lets just say ~she's a hugger~ WHEW!☺ For Week 20, I did follow the prompt, which was "Made in 10 Minutes" Which was lucky cuz that's about how much time I had. I think I could have gotten one more pair done, but my area is so messed up it took FOREVER to find the copper ear wires, and I ran out o...

It's my own fault.... Yesterday I posted this to the group .... And then I may have mentioned that it would be nice to wear this with  a pair of jeans and a t-shirt when things warm up a bit. And this morning I was greeted by this..... I have lived here for over 20 years and I know  that we will usually get snow in April, but it still feels like Mother Nature is being just a little bit rude. And my weather obsessed hubby informs me that there is a second storm on it's way and it is expected to dump another 12 - 18" of snow  on top of the 8" we got last night:( ~ sigh ~ Even though Spring hasn't actually sprung for us yet, it will get here. Hopefully these will be seedlings ready to plant in about 8 weeks☺ And I will be ready☺

Just thought I would share a pic of my yard If you look closely, you might notice that the snow looks a tad...shiny... Yep.. about 6" of snow covered with about 2" of solid ice, thanks to 24 hours of freezing rain a couple of weeks ago. The good thing is that the 6" of snow that fell last weekend blew away quite easily when the wind kicked up. (It's very windy here in the winter) The bad news is that 'break up' won't happen for another couple of months, so we are stuck with this stuff. Lily can't stand up on this stuff but she is learning to  walk where the tire tracks compacted the snow so it didn't blow away and she can get some traction☺

This is what greeted me this morning.... on a Monday... this wasn't here when I went to bed... Even though this will probably be gone by the end of today, it will be here for my morning commute. And since everyone in Alaska seems to forget how to drive in snow over the summer months, I hope you'll wish me luck.

Just because I knew it was coming doesn't mean I have to be happy it's here. On the other hand, my Honey has been waiting months to do this. Not. The last remaining snow patch in my yard is was apparently housing voles. Now it is not.  And I am not sure if my back is going to allow me to get out of bed in the morning. Heres hoping☺

I know it's only March. And around here, this is usually what it looks like in March. I took these photos from the dining room window. It is 20° and I have spent enough time outside today. I honestly love living here, but this always happens to me this time of year. I am DONE with winter. What I wouldn't give to see some nasty brown grass out there. ☺ I just have to keep reminding myself, the more time it is cold outside, the more time I have to concentrate on my "artsy stuff". Gardening and ATV riding are just around the corner ( just a couple of months away). And since summer is fleeting around here, there is not a lot of time to spend indoors. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! No time to do housework in the summer either. ☺ If you are worried that this is going to turn into a Weather Blog, let me ease your fears. I have started a couple more "residents" of Melodia. I should have some WIP pics to post in a day or two and I am almost finished with a new necklace / ...

In this picture, if you look REALLY close at the area above and to the left of the "fabulous" snow pile, you can just make out our house. (Just to the right of the power pole) This shot was taken from the lower section of our "driveway", which is actually 1/4 mile of dirt road. And I referred to the snow pile as "fabulous", because my wonderful hubby has been trying to perfect his snow plowing skills and he feels that he has out done himself this year! The photo below is another one of his snow piles. I know what you're thinking, "Wow! Another picture of a snow pile! How exciting!" But at least this one includes Scooby Doo. And the snow piles are kind of cool until they start to thaw while the ground is still frozen, then the driveway gets kind of Lake-ish. **(Thought I should edit this post to clarify that only the top 12 inches of this crap happened last weekend :-) ** I saw a row of Pagodas.
