Been listing...

I finally spent the day (in between loads of laundy) listing some things on Etsy. And like I always say, it takes alot of time. If I did it more that once every couple of months it probably wouldn't take so much time☺ If these don't sell pretty quickly, I may just have to "un"list them to keep for my very own☺ I ♥ these with all my ♥. Made this as part of the Bead Soup Blog Party Um.....last September☺ On the home front ~ With the snow being as deep as it is, we have had a LOT  of moose wandering through. They tend to take "the path of least resistance" in the winter to preserve what nutrition they can find. This is one of our most recent visitors and yes... that is our woodshed behind him and there really is a three foot drop to get in there for wood;~) And after having a solid month of temps below zero we have warmed up to the upper twenties for the daytime high recently so I was able to actually o...

my weekend... success?

This weekend I had about a weeks worth of projects that I wanted to accomplish. Did I accomplish all of them? HA! NO! Did I expect to? No☺ I did work on some MORE bee pendants. I am experimenting with colors and finishes and I like what I have so far. I finished a necklace that I think is probably my favorite EVER ..... so far☺ I can honestly say that I have never shopped for specific beads for a specific project (except for a bead weaving pattern I bought. Delica beads.  Dang they are TINY. Talk about a lot of work...whew☺) until I received this heart focal from StudioJuls and I knew I wanted it to be superduperspecialextragorgeousawesome! So I took my gift card I got for Christmas (Thanks Mom!) and got me some goodies from Fire Mountain . I have fallen in love with Swarovski crystals (aren't they perty?) and I discovered swarovski pearls too, cuz they were just the perfect cream color to go with my focal. And a grab bag of copper spacers...

I think I'll do another Random Wednesday post...

I had to drive to Anchorage today for a "parts run" and office supplies and since I had quite a few Office Max rewards points built up I thought I would treat myself to a new camera. I wanted something itty bitty that I could carry around in my small-ish purse so that I would have it handy for the occasional 'awesome sunset' or 'beautiful mountain view' that I get rewarded with on my way to or from work because I have learned that I am apparently incompetent when it comes to taking pics with my phone. Which is not a smart phone, by the way, because smart phones are apparently smarter than me and I get annoyed. Sooo, anyhoo, I found the cutest itty bitty Nikon Coolpix s6100 and I love it. So far I seem to be winning in the smart department AND it fits in my purse☺ And since the battery had some juice I took a few pics... Snow-zilla This is the pile of snow in the lot of the building next to the shop. They have already had snow hau...

Russian Tea Cakes / Italian Wedding Cookies I tried making these last weekend for the first time. They are easy. They are awesome. They are kind of like potato chips, one is not enough. Last week I made a bunch of awesome holiday earrings. And took some really crappy pictures of them;~) I also bought myself a Birthday present. I love this earring holder! Love ~ Love~ Love! You can get one here . Baklava Yesterday I made this for the first time. It is baklava. I got the recipe here and it is awesome! It was very simple but a little monotonous. Snickerdoodles And today I made these. I have to say that photographing jewelry is difficult, but photographing food is an art and boy, do I need some practice☺

cuz Honey luvs me☺

because the Nascar season ended and the Golf tournament doesn't really get exciting until the Final Round and because I have a boat load of things I needed (and still need to) do this weekend including laundry, paying bills, bottling homemade Kalua (recipe to follow) changing the sheets, baking pumpkin bread, finishing and listing some earrings reconciling the checkbook and hopefully starting some little penguins . and because Honey loves me..... he volunteered to take the kids on their afternoon walk, which is usually my job. Thanks Honey! You need to make this. You will not regret it☺ Homemade Kalua Ingredients:  3 cups sugar 3 cups water 3 Tbls instant coffee 2 Tbls vanilla paste * 4 cups vodka Mix sugar, coffee and water together and simmer for 1 hour. Do Not Boil. After an hour turn heat off and let cool. Once cooled, add vanilla and vodka and bottle it up. ~Make sure that you mix well before you...
