Lily's Limo...

Image
Thought I would share an update on Lily. If you read the last post you know that we lost someone dear to us, and it has been particularly difficult on Lily. Lily 2008 She had her first and only batch of pups in a kennel in our dining room in 2002... Scooby was one of her pups. They have always been inseparable (These pics are horrible quality but they will always be some of my favorites. The entire evening they looked like synchronized swimmers. They each had a bone filled with peanut butter☺) Neither one did anything without the other. Lily is a little confused about why Scoobie isn't here. Well.....  to keep her from being alone all day while we are at work..... I have started taking her to work with me☺  Since she is 12 yrs old with arthritic hips, jumping into the back of the Tahoe wasn't an option anymore, so we got ourselves this handy dandy ramp☺ It folds right up and still leaves plenty of roo...

I ♥ Macro ~ Under the Sea?

Image
I am so late I almost missed 'I Heart Macro' with Lori at Studio Waterstone It seems that the only time I have posted for weeks now, has been for 'i heart macro', but today we finally finished our last huge project for the summer, so hopefully, I can get back to creating something besides buildings and landscaping. (I am in the process of putting together a post about the greenhouse and the new yard;~) These all looked like 'under sea images' to me when I first looked at them☺ But they are actually garden shots (big surprise) White and Purple Kale And a really cool flower I can't remember the name of☺ Check out some Macro goodness by clicking on the pic♥

I Heart Macro.... Infused

Infused Olive Oil Infused Olive Oil Can you believe my husband laughed at me when he came into the kitchen and saw me taking pictures of a half empty bottle of olive oil?  lol! Aloe Stubby Cactus Tall Cactus I grew the cacti from seed. I got one of those little indoor garden kits.  I didn't really expect much, but I ended up with three cute little cacti. They live on the window sill in the dining room;~) It has been a cool and very wet week around here so I went with the indoor "kitchen" version  of I Heart Macro. Now you should go see what everyone else has been up to over at Studio Waterstone I Heart Macro

I have been wanting to get in on this for quite a while now with  Lori Plyler over at Studio Waterstone . I really want to improve my camera skills. Hopefully this will help☺ I haven't spent ANY time on jewelry or sculpting (I miss it a lot) because I have been a "woman on a mission" this summer. We built a greenhouse so I could (hopefully) grow tomatoes and then I decided I was done trying to bring a dead lawn back to life, so we started over. A lot of work and the weather has only cooperated some of the time;-( I will  post about the greenhouse progress in a day or two (it really is amazing) But for today I have some Macro shots that I think came out quite well. They are all OOTC shots. (Out of the camera, no photoshop) Soon to be a Roma Tomatillo Blossom Not a little paper lantern Greenhouse Marigold Fireweed Blossom Squash Blossom My New Yard The grass seed has started sprout...

finally, some new earrings and (what was I thinking) another large project

I kind of had to spend  a few extra hours a day at work recently. I usually work early and open the shop at 8 and I have a young lady that comes in later and closes up at 6. I can usually get out of there by 2:30 or 3:00. Well for a couple of weeks recently, my young friend didn't have transportation, so we car-pooled. That meant for some long days for both of us. I took advantage of being stuck at the shop by spending some quality time at my enamelling station . I have accumulated quite a few beads and I figured I had better, at least try, to make some time to make something with them. The one above is a work in progress. I just thought it was such a happy color, I wanted to include it☺ And just when I thought our "one big summer project" for the year was done when we finished the greenhouse........ I finally convinced the stubborn man that lives here that the grass  was not going to get green, no matter how ...
